OER Training Delivered in Kandahar

In partnership with Save the Children International (SCI), the DD Library team delivered a workshop on using, sharing, and making open educational resources (OER) in Kandahar. The training began by reviewing the role of teaching and learning materials in education, and then introduced teachers to the concept of open educational resources (OER), and licensing materials openly, such as by using Creative Commons licenses. Then teachers were guided in how to use the DD Library to find and share OERs. There was additional practical training on searching online for relevant resources, and as always, participants were encouraged to develop and upload their material to the Library for other teachers to use too. In Kandahar, SCI has provided the teachers’ college with a Resource Centre that includes computers and modems, from which teachers access DDL Lite.
