The Oruj Learning Center is a women-led nonprofit organization established in 2003 to provide girls and women with equal access to all levels of education throughout Afghanistan. Oruj believes that educating women and girls is key to empowering them to fully participate in and equally contribute to Afghan society.
The Oruj Institute of Higher Education opened in 2011 to ensure that more women evolve into leadership roles and are included in the decision-making process in Afghanistan.
