Digital literacy is the capacity of an individual to find, interpret and input information on various digital devices. This course covers the basic skills required to navigate the internet reliably, consume information, troubleshoot problems with common devices. Comprising three modules, each module focuses on a set of skills on a given domain. Beginning with an introduction to digital literacy, the course dives right into the basics of computer and internet use for educational purposes. The final module presents a discussion on media literacy.

Trauma is the impact on a person of a distressing or disturbing experience, which can include both emotional and physical symptoms that affect a person’s day to day life in different ways. This course is an introduction to basic trauma. It introduces participants to the basics of trauma in human beings, including its causes, types and symptoms, including a study of trauma from war. By the end of the course, participants will have basic knowledge of the causes and consequences of trauma in humans. This course is useful for anyone who has experienced trauma, who has family or friends who have experienced trauma, or who works with individuals who have experienced trauma.

This course is for adults who use devices and spend time online. It is for anyone who wants to learn about online safety issues and essential safety precautions, and learn about tools and strategies to keep themselves safe. Women and girls are especially vulnerable online; therefore, we have included sections focused on common issues they face. For teachers, this course will give you the necessary foundation to support your students as they also learn about being safe online.

Welcome to CW4WA’s How to Teach Online: Building Relationships. The course has five units. Each unit will include readings, activities and journal entries to complete. Units 1-4 have specific focus areas. The readings and activities connect to building learning relationships with your students.

Distance learning is a way of teaching and learning where students and teachers are separated by time or space, do not meet in a classroom, and use the Internet or alternate means of sharing course materials and communicating. It can refer to any sort of teaching that is done outside a traditional classroom, including paper-based correspondence courses or technology-supported elearning, like this course in DD Courses. It includes courses where a teacher is there to support students, and also courses students work through on their own without a dedicated instructor. Since the Internet is the most common way to offer distance learning, we will refer to technology-based systems for the most part, but the content we cover here is applicable for other distance learning choices as well.

Welcome to the Learn Mental Health Literacy course for educators. This course is designed primarily for educators: preservice teachers in faculties of education, educators in schools, including classroom teachers, administrators and other specialized roles such as counsellors, psychologists, learning support teachers, as well as for others interested in developing their mental health literacy. Even if you are not a teacher or are not teaching at this time, this course is relevant to you and your families well-being.
