
This website is created by Right to Learn Afghanistan (formerly Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan), a not-for-profit organization that has been providing gender-equitable education and working to improve human rights conditions for Afghan women and girls since 1998.

Darakht-e Danesh, means “knowledge tree” in Farsi/Dari.
Darakht-e Danesh Academi (DD Academi) is a collection of virtual education tools that provide access to education for thousands of Afghans.

We believe that technology can provide powerful opportunities in realizing the human right to education. Everyone has a right to learn, and our innovative technological tools in our Darakht-e Danesh Academi (DDA) not only give Afghans greater access to knowledge and information but also help both students and teachers develop 21st-century skills.

The Darakht-e Danesh Library provides Free and Open Educational Resources for Afghanistan.
The Library is a digital repository of open educational resources (OERs) for teachers, students, and anyone with a curious mind who wants to learn more on a particular subject.

Our asynchronous course platform that allows Afghans to take full courses at their own pace.
A variety of subjects are offered in three languages: Dari, Pasto, and English. We are expanding our courses to meet the needs of Afghans, including new professional development courses for displaced Afghans.
